How many people entered? I'm just wondering what my chances are . . .

Hmm...well, I don't think there's any harm in letting everyone know what their chances are! I mean, afterall, it's only fair.
13 people entered. So out of those 13, two of you will get a HAW Lorne and three of you will get a RoF Wesley! I think those sound like pretty good odds, eh? ^_^

I have a theory. I may be totally wrong here, but I am so shocked by the number of entries I have to cling to something.
The poetry contest had 30+ entries. The PALz contest had 40+. I figured this one, with its music theme, would go well past 50, at the very least.
Is it that it was too personal? That it was too much like real karaoke and as much fun as root canal at the dentist's?
I thought it was a brilliant idea for a contest, and while I did come to think it was not as much fun as I had anticipated, I would really like to know why more people didn't enter.

I bet it just involved a bit more work. Some people just don't read songs ina relatable way. The guys are too busy to read the entries so everyone's just chomping at the bit to know who won. I just hope no one loose interest They'll get here - and it'll be great

I think the reason is that most people just can't be bothered or just don't have the time to put in the effort for competitions where you have to think about something and spend a while working on your entry. Most prefer just a quick answer to an easy question and to write down their name and address. It's a little sad but it's the truth. But hey, it's better for us who entered! More chances to win!

I suppose the contest didn't turn out to be as big of a success as I had hoped it would be when it was created. Also, once again I'm sorry for the delay in the results and I know you're all sitting on pins and needles waiting to know how it turned out. Things are moving along as quickly as possible and hopefully won't take too much longer.
Also, for the thirteen who entered: no matter how this thing turns out, you're all winners in my book. Thank you all for participating in this contest and making me happy by enjoying what you were doing. If I could, I'd get you ALL prizes just for that.

AHA!! SO -YOU- DID THE SPICE GIRLS!!!
I had no names to go with these when I judged them; they were given to me by Chad and he kept them all anomymous and unnamed, so the only way I really could know who was who was if I happened to already know what song somebody was doing or if I could tell by the writing who it was. However, I had no idea who had done that one...until NOW!! ^_^
And sure...I don't know how long it might take for the winners to be revealed once and for all, and I've already done my judging so it's not like I'm going to be influenced. Anyone who wants to bring theirs to this thread for discussion is more than welcome to do so! I like to keep interest alive, afterall.

Let the people have what they want. It is rather short... and I doubt I won, but I like it, and it is the truth.

Here's mine:
If I were to choose a song for karaoke, it would have to be “Sometimes” by Britney Spears. Many overlook the hidden messages in the pop stylings of Miss Spears, especially in her early days, before all the naughty connotations. One can find a bit of innocence in “Sometimes” and see how many can even relate her purely pop lyrics. I chose this song because I was once a naïve young girl who thought that love was always “true love” and that everyone met a handsome prince, rode off into the sunset, and lived happily ever after. “Sometimes” helps convey the feelings of someone who’s had a rocky road with past loves and wants to have another chance, but needs to take it slow. She obviously wants to be in love and live her life with the new person to be special and hopefully be the one true love. I’ve felt the same, as if “baby, all I need is time.” I got out of a really bad relationship last year and it left me in a horrible state, and I followed it with a relationship with someone I had trouble trusting, which definitely embodied Britney’s chorus “Sometimes I run, Sometimes I hide, Sometimes I’m scared of you” but I could never bring myself to trust him completely. He wanted our relationship to move faster than it was, but with the lack of trust, and my apprehension, “I wanna believe in everything that you say, 'Cause it sounds so good ..But if you really want me, move slow,” was my attempt at what I wanted, but I found soon that it was something he could never give me. But soon, my handsome prince came out of the shadows and into my life to take me away from the awful boys of the past. Showering me with kindness and love, I became scared, for no one I had met had acted this way. “You tell me you're in love with me Like you can't take your pretty eyes away from me. It's not that I don't want to stay, But every time you come too close I move away…” and that was how I began to act until I was able to see through the cobwebs over my eyes and mind. Love may not be a fairytale, but there is someone special out there for you to share it with. I think Britney sends this ideal through her song, and it’s always been able to reach through whatever relationship I was going through. She led me to believe that there was a light at the end of the tunnel. Sometimes you will run, but at the end of the day, there is someone special who will run after you and not let you go.
