Official announcement found here. Wesley and Lorne will be Featured in New Figures DST is pleased to announce the next releases in the growing Angel action figure line. These figures are based on the characters Wesley and Lorne, from the popular TV series. Both characters will have multiple variations available, when they hit retailers in April of 2005. Lorne has long been an instrument of The Powers That Be. Able to read people’s destinies while they sing, Lorne originally used his talents to run a successful, albeit oft-demolished, karaoke bar named Caritas – Latin for Sanctuary. After assisting Angel Investigations on several occasions, Lorne joined the crew in their move to the evil Wolfram & Hart where he ran the Entertainment Division. Originally a member of the Watcher’s Council, Wesley Wyndam-Price served as Watcher to two Slayers – Buffy and Faith. Not quite working out to the Council’s satisfaction, Wesley was fired – sending him into a period of soul-searching which led him to L.A. and Angel Investigations. Wesley underwent an amazing self-transformation while serving as their resident occult expert, and later as resident wild card. Additionally, Wesley served as head of the Occult Division of Wolfram & Hart until his apparent death at the hands of master-sorcerer Cyvus Vail. Exclusive variants of each of these figures will be offered by select retailers both online and in stores. These exclusives depict some of the most well known and much wanted episodes from Angel, and each they each come with a variety of accessories. The specific figures and their retailers will be announced shortly.

I wonder if Lorne will be modified from the original sculpt? Not many people were happy with that. Lorne's accessoies. Puppet Angel? I hope the regular Wesley stays exactly the same! I loved it all!

Hmmmm.
Wesley = Excellent.
Lorne = Dissapointed.
Not that I didn't want a Lorne figure EVENTUALLY, but I was kinda hoping for an "all new" figure to be announced. Its been so long since we've been waiting for these figures, my excitement has kinda worn off, at least in regards to Lorne.
Is there going to be another set of Angel figures released in 2005? Hopefully that would be our chance to get Gunn and Fred or Illyria.
Its cool. Interested to hear the variants. Hoping for Marlboro Man Wesley with shotgun, handguns etc, etc and Lorne in a red suit with puppet Angel.
Cheers, Haeph.

I really hope they do some major resculpting on Wesley's face. I'll be more excited once we see some new shots...but what I'm really waiting for is the new Buffy line.

Have to admit that i'm not half as excited about Wesley & Lorne as i was about Spike & Darla. Guess i'll really make up my mind when i see the actual figures

I have a feeling that these two figures will be resculpted. For one, DST got scans of the Angel cast back when they were shooting season Five. Also, DST knows how awful these sculpts were, and we all know how much they like to please the fans. I really think we'll be seeing some new and improved Welsey and Lorned figures, though. -CMK

Spike and Darla were not in my top 10, but I've been wanting these two for a long time. Granted, I would have liked Fred or Gunn before Lorne, but I'm sure we will see them in the end.
Not be start the nagging, I just want to say that MAC's sculpts had some issues:
- Wesley's hair, the two strange curls HAVE to go! - Wesley's sweater; a shirt is more typical of him. - Lorne's waist was much to thin.
I have faith that DST will improve the sculpts, or provide variants with new sculpts. They scored big time with the almost-all-new OMWF Anya variant. DST rules. On the other hand, the fact that they chose these two seems te imply that they're following in MAC's footsteps. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

Considering nearly every problem we had with darla, anya, and tara was qualified by DST with a "We couldn't change is due to the way MAC sculpted it)...i highly doubt they will be reusing the old sculpts. I just hope they do poses with some attitude and not the 'just standing around' pose that spike has. i think lorne needs some grave and flair...and wesley...some quite reserve and brooding manliness.
Here are my picks and requests for what they are worth..
Lorne- regular in suit and ascot Lorne- vegas style Lorne-pylea with removeable head Lorne...maybe a trechcoat and hat version... but honestly i am fine with just three. *please no 25 suit repaints to make a billion variants!
Wesley... 1)bookish man from angel 2) rogue demon hunter 3) in a tux (waiting in the wings/Prom) 4) wesley in a trench with shotguns aka malboro man with a scar under chin..yummy... 5)wesley in a suit from the buffy days

On the other hand, the fact that they chose these two seems to imply that they're following in MAC's footsteps. I disagree. I think that DST is actually trying to leave MAC behind and move on. By releasing Wesley and Lorne now, they can discard of MAC's old plans and continue the Buffy and Angel lines with their own. A good move, in my opinion. -CMK

Oh darn! I wanted wesley and Illyria and Wesley Lorne i a key person but I didn't think much of him. Guess this means no Illyria

Guess this means no Illyria. Just because Illyria isn't made right at this second doesn't mean that it won't ever be made. Again, DST likes to please the fans, and they know we want Illyria. It's probably just a matter of time now... -CMK

My money is on Fred and Gunn in the next wave.
I wonder when they will announce the next buffy line? What series are we on now?? Buffy 7? I can't even keep it straight anymore. I am also wondering how often they are planing to release figures? If these are for april...they would be very wise to have another big release right around the summer conventions (new xander and riley anyone?...or maybe a new buffy?)
so we have...
darla and Spike in January
super poseable buffy and others in late winter?
angel III in april...
