I received my Anya/Tara case pack from Wizard today. Only Hush Tara and 1 Anya arrived undamaged. 6 out of the 8 figures all have badly bent cards. It's a good thing I bought these to give away and not to sell. In the future, I will be buying no more case packs from Wizard! I will wait until they are in stock at DST and order them all there. DST puts each figure in sturdy white boxes inside a bigger box.

I should probably post this in the "I got my Anya and Tara" topic, but figured it's better to post here. First thing, DST was super fast with getting my three figures out. Placed the order this past Saturday, and got them yesterday! Only problem is, the three figures (Anya, Tara, Hush Tara) weren't individually boxed within a larger box. They were just inside of one large white box, which got mushed in delivery. The cards got a bit bent up, but not as badly damaged as my Sideshow Spike box was. I don't mind too terribly since I open my figures, but if I had wanted these "MOSC" I would have been a bit ticked. So just a note to everyone... DST shipped these out super fast but the shipping box sucks.

Am I getting this straight? DST no longer uses the white boxes in shipping? DST orders arriving damaged? My Wizard case got smushed! I got free shipping on all my Anya's and Taras, so I shouldn't complaint, but 6 out of 8 damaged? Cinequest DOES have sturdy packing? What about the other online stores?

AFX (Action Figure Express) has great shipping. I got my Anyanka yesterday and she was in a white box and then inside a larger shipping box. I don't open my figures and Anyanka was totally mint on card And the only upcoming figure I haven't pre-ordered is Fool For Love Spike. So now I'm going to pre-order it at AFX since they did such a great job packing and shipping Anyanka.

I'm surprised to hear that DST isn't double-boxing their figures. I'm an opener, but it was nice that they packed the Willows in separate boxes for added protection. I got 2 Anyankas from AFX today and they were double-boxed.

i got my taras and anya from DST on thursday, and everything was perfect. the boxes was not damaged or smooshed. the cards the figures are on are in perfect shape as well. its not DST's fault for the delivery company's trashing of the merchandise they ship.

It is DST's fault for sending them off in such a crappy box. Especially if UPS is their method of shipping, they're known for trashing stuff. Somewhere along the line of being shipped, the box had to be retaped, as the whole side panel got pushed inwards (thus ripping the tape). At least now I know not to trust DST's shipping. In the future when I place an order I will make a point to let them know that they need to send it out in a normal cardboard box. Though from what a few people have said above, I would just as soon order from AFX than from DST again...

While it sounds like DST certainly could have packed these shipments better, I have to agree it's unfair to blame them for UPS smashing up any packages. Any problems like that should go to UPS first I think. They are the ones responsible, and hopefully their standard $100 insurance will cover the damage. A complaint should be sent to DST too if you think the packaging is poor and you care about card condition. I'm sure that they've gotten a few complaints and will be doing something to fix it soon.

Does Cinequest not give order numbers when you pre-order from them? How do you refer to orders placed?

Does Cinequest not give order numbers when you pre-order from them? How do you refer to orders placed? They do. It's found in the subject line and body of the email confirming your order with them.

As I said above, the packages weren't damaged enough for me to want replacements from DST. Just a word of warning to anyone who orders from DST hoping for "MOSC" quality. My order (Anya, Tara, Hush Tara) was mailed in one white box, like the indivdual white boxes DST used to pack the figures in. That white box is a lot thinner than the standard cardboard boxes people send through UPS, hence the damage. It doesn't help that the white boxes do not close up as well as regular cardboard boxes do... This is the first box I've gotten from DST like this. When I had ordered a bunch of Willows before they were sent in normal, very sturdy cardboard boxes. I don't know why DST would switch over to such a crappy "economy" box instead... And yeah I think I will email DST customer service with a pic attached of my damaged box: "please don't use these flimsy boxes again."
