Thanks for the photos! How did you take the ones from behind? Did they turn them around for you ? I also have a question, and I don't want to look like I'm bashing the figures but am I the only one who thinks the sculpting is not quite up there with the Willow line? I think if you look at the banner at the top of the page, you can get somewhat of an idea of what I mean. Were these figures sculpted before Willow?

Were these figures sculpted before Willow? Anya was. We saw the unpainted prototype before the Willow line was announced. I think Tara was finished being sculpted late 2003.

Wow great photos deannaB, thanks for posting them. I can really see Tara alot more better with these photos. Seems like Tara's hair is lighter in these pics then the ones DST released today. Oh well I think the Tara figure looks great anyway. And Anya isnt looking to shabby herself, cant wait to see her when her arms are all articulated.

Oops. Still not used to the new division of forums. I keep thinking of the other as being "The Willow Threads," forgetting that it should include Tara and Anya as well. Oh well, someone will move this.
And part of the difference in heights is that Tara seems to be almost leaning backwards while Anya is leaning forwards (I keep expecting Anya to tip over -- I hope she stands up better than the BtVS Cordys.), so any photo taken from any high angle makes it look like they're completely different heights. Unfortunately it's hard to get a low angle shot through that glass. Maybe I'll try again today.
And I just stuck my camera in behind the glass case to get the backs. Went into the next booth and reached around. Click. :-)
The only other BtVS/AtS merchandise they have on display are the monster busts. On the whole, the con seems pretty disapointing. I might leave early and go to the aquarium instead. When you're used to the San Diego Comic-Con, in comparison, this is barely one hundredth of that.

Thanks for sharing the photos! They both look great, and it's definitely a plus to see different angles of them. Too bad the 'con turned out to be disappointing I'd love to go to one of the major toy shows...

Those photos are fantastic! It really brings another side of the figures in view. Tara looks great in those photos, and I'm even more excited about her figure after seeing these. Thanks a lot for sharing!

Thanks Deanna! I like the Tara more now... she looks less unhappy. Just a little neutral. PS. The pictures you have of other figures are hilarious... i'm loving chicken phobia, Buffy and the Turtle, and Nice Bunny

Ooh, thanks for the pictures! Tara does look much less unhappy from these angles (which is a big relief). It's hard to tell the real shading from pictures, but I really hope her hair doesn't turn out too ashy. That's my major concern with her.

I'm happy with how these guys both turned out. Anya looks dead-on and Tara, while not perfect, looks awesome too. Even my bf whos not so much into figues, but likes the show thanks to me says that the likenesses are great. I gotta say when I saw pic 5 the first thing to my mind was "Now I'm bathed in light..." hehe. Thanks for taking the pics and showin em off to us. We eat em like like ice cream sandwiches...(which sound good right now).
