When is Chad going to come back? All I want is a quick 1 minute explanation of what's going to happen

I PM'd Flobbster a couple of days ago about the Custom Awards and he said that he was going to call Chad to see what was up, I'm guessing he couldn't get ahold of him. I understand that Chad is busy with college and all that but other people on this board are in college and still seem to find time to post.
I'd really like to get the Survivor game going again too, but that almost seems like a lost cause at the moment too.

I just don't understand why others can't step up to the plate, if those in charge don't have the time.

I still think another admin is the best idea, somebody who does have enough time.. but we do need Chad and/or Flobbster for that.

Maybe now it doesn't seem like such a bad idea in retrospect afterall when I suggested months ago to add another Admin (and no, NOT myself. As a much busier person now, I wouldn't want it anyway).

I have to agree with you guys. I think a new mod/admin that is actually around a lot and has enough time would be a great addition to the forum. It's been so dead here lately. I really wish Chad would give us an explanation.

everybody is getting really disheartened about the awards not taking place yet. there have been loads of suggestions, but nothing is actually happening. why dont we do some sort of poll as regards to 1)whether they should actually take place now or not, 2) should there be prizes this year, 3) should someone else become an admin member? etc...

I'm glad you're taking an interest, Cowboy Guy. All good suggestions, apart from making the Tag Board more prominent. Please don't do that; it's fine where it is.

I would agree that we need to do more to inject life into this place. The admins have vanished and features like the Custom Awards and Buffy Survivor that were brightening up the place have come grinding to a halt.
I think we need to pool all our ideas together, promote some new staff and get working to reinvent the place and return it to it's former glory.

And how to you expect to "promote" new staff? Even if someone says "Okay, welp, I'm admin!" they can't do anything. No powers what so ever.

Exactly. I may be wrong, but I think only Chad can give members complete powers for the forum. So even if we do elect new mods, we still need Chad to show up.

Tim (Flobbster) is the only one who can create mods.... This is his forum and he is the head admin.

Yeah. And, personally, I don't think anyone on the board really deserves to be a mod, and especially not admin.

Yeah. And, personally, I don't think anyone on the board really deserves to be a mod, and especially not admin. I'm sure there are people on here who would do great as a mod/admin. With DST breathing new life into the merchandise line, we need somebody who will do the same for the board.

Which is why we have admins who have a great history with DST, and who DST trust. Do you really think they'll give us the same treatment with a new admin?

I think so yes, Flobbster will still be the owner of the forum, that won't change by adding an extra admin. But that's my opinion.

I had an e-mail from Chad saying that he's been involved in his college cheerleading championship. It is now over and he'll be able to deal with these forum issues shortly.

But see, he couldn't take 2 minutes to come on here and say that? I mean really. How hard would that be? He doesn't have to explain himself, but just a quick:
"Hey, just busy with school and things will be back on track soon."
Would have been fine. I just find that excuse hard to believe. I manage to be on here, and I have a full time job as well as 12 units this semester and a social life.
I don't think ANYONE should be "promoted" to have full complete control power, or anything. But I don't get why some of us can't be upped to help out when the guys are too busy. I personally would never ever want to have to contact DST all the time with questions and stuff.
I mean as far as contests and smaller stuff like that, why can't a few of us take those things over if it's been two months of no activity. It's been a long time. I mean, look @ the news section on the main page. It's almost been a year since it's had an update! A year!

The forum is bustling with life since Toyfair and what's the forum doing to accomadate the influx of new members and enthusiasm? Nothing! People thinking of joining the forum may be put off when they see year old news.
