Anyway, since we no longer get to have our Tag Board...I assume that means we'll have a specially dedicated Spam Thread stickied at the top of the Lounge, hmm? I mean, afterall, it's ONLY fair...

That way only members will be using it, everyone will always know who everybody is, and we'll still get to have fun and interact with eachother in ways that we never got to do before the Tag Board existed.

That IS what will happen, right?

Something fun was handed to us, then ripped away...its really discouraging me about this whole forum, Im so sorry to sound negative...but fun was what attracted me here..

I said from the beginning to make the tag for members only...Then poof its gone, why?

Because Sharon, 1 member felt hurt? By a NON-MEMBER? or because Ms Big was inconvienienced?

Im not pissed at them, They have their opinions, its cool, But why punish us all.... why???

We discussed other answers...moving the tag....banning non-members..etc..

Were we even given a straight answer? Do we want one yes? Do we deserve one, I dont know what does everyone else think?

Are we not supposed to have fun things here?

I agree with Val. I thought it was kind of interesting. It was definitely easier to talk to the members through the tag and I liked just reading it. It was a lot of fun. I agree, it would have been best if only members could use it and if it was only in one spot. I don't see the harm in that and it wouldn't bother anyone and the people that wanted it, will have it.

I liked the tag thing for the most part. But there were a few things I didn't like about it:

1. Non forum members could get on there, and they ruined it for the rest of us.

2. It refreshed too often, it made it hard to read some of the time. If it just refreshed like the regular messengers (MSN, Yahoo, etc.) it wouldn't have been irritating.

I don't know if it should have been on every page either. Maybe putting it in one place on the forum would have helped too.

But I did like that I could talk to other forum members without having to post a thread or PMing them.

I think if it was only restricted to members only there wouldn't have been a problem. It's not any of the members faults.

I'm saddened. I LOVED this addition. Who cares if some idiot pretending he's dark willow decides to screw with us? We're better people to ignore him and have regular conversations. Plus, we could have opted for a members only version, but we weren't even given time to try and correct that.

I have had more fun in the last day with that tag board then I've had online for awhile - I loved getting to talk to other members immediately, plus get to know some people better like Rich and Jess! It's a great thing if used correctly, because not all of us can always be on MSN or AIM at the same time... but if it comes down to it, I'll compile a list myself of everyone's usernames on either message service and organize chats. I think it's a great idea -- getting to say "hey what's up!" never hurt anyone.

But, I guess in the form that it was in, and without any set rules, things can happen. It was a great great thing while it lasted, at least to me, but hey, life will go on.

I've been gone since yesterday afternoon, so I'm back and confused. CaptPeroxideLuv told me a bit about it on the phone today when I was talking to her about some Wiz World LA stuff from the con. It sounded like it was a big ugly on the part of a non-member. It makes the most sense to keep it to members. I think the most important thing is to keep the integrity of the board. There are lots of places that random people can go to and say nasty things. I love that this board isn't like that. We have a sense of decorum and respect that is rare on the internet. I'm at least as chatty as anyone else on the board. I'd love a place to chat, but I think we should keep it to members that we can deal with if they go over the line.

Just my opinion.

I can see why it was taken away after reading through all of these issues, but I promise you guys that I will fix all of this in the morning/afternoon and make it so that the tag board will still be accessbile, but ONLY to members.

It sounds good, Chad.

We had the Tag Board for a day and it proved popular and successful. But it was just a few flaws in it that made the whole idea bomb. And that was because of only two main problems:

1. Wasn't exclusively to BTVSfigs Members. People who had been banned from the forum in the past were able to crawl their way back into our community and try and make worse for the rest of us, which was just not on.

2. That the Tag Board was on every page. It got a little distracting, but had it been limited to the main page, or one or two threads/sections it would have been perfect as it would be the best of both worlds for members who loved the Tag Board and the one's who weren't so keen on it.

Hopefully all these creases will be ironed out when it returns again because I had so much just sitting and chatting to you guys. It was great to have fun discussions with members that I rarely get the chance to interact with over MSN/AIM.

Members only has to be the way to go.
Also if its going to have it's own section it can be made larger. The speed of the refresh made it difficult to read in the small box. Having an indication that someone is typing a reply like MSN Messenger would be good too.
