I'm not liking it so much either. I tried to post this in another thread, but...the 'Too Many Connections' thing came up so...sorry if it's gonna wind up being posted twice. Anyway, is there a way to go to the newest post in a thread when you click? For instance...on the main page, I saw that Dawn had posted in this thread, so I clicked but it took me to the first page instead of the last post of the second page. Is there a way around that or do I need to go to the thread and and then go to the last page eeeeevery time? I noticed that to and as far as I can work out no there isn't away which will grow annoying in time. I loved how the old forum was so simple, this one's starting to make my brain hurt!

Karma is a way of rating a member, you click exalt to raise there Karma (Good) and smite to lower it bad (Bad) so smite people you don't like or feel is a bad member and exact if you feel there a good member and you like them. You can only give a person Karma once an hour, that's one person an hour. Thanks for explaining that Dawn! I haven't come across it before... and I am now worried! So, I can now exalt you for you helpfulness! Is there a record for who exalted or smited your karma?

I'm *really* hoping this 'too many connections' thing is temporary. I haven't run into this problem since last summer, and I thought we'd finally left it behind. So much for 'upgrade', huh? Still. I'll hold back judgment until it's had a little while to settle in. I do like the extra info (location, b/d, etc).
Re: the earlier question about jumping to the latest post -- I haven't tried to get into the threads the way you described, but once you're in the thread there is that nice drop-down box on the bottom left of all the posts -- it shows what page you're currently on. You can drop down and pick the last page and it should take you right there, so at least you don't have to scroll through them all manually (if that's what you were referring to?).

I keep getting the too many connections thing to but I'm hoping it will stop soon. The Karma thing sounds good and the spell check is a really good idea. I did get annoyed at first when I went on a thread with more than one pages but I'm already starting to get used to it although I did prefer the forum the way it was before. I really like the Birthday thing though, it seems cool.
EDIT: One thing I just noticed though is that i'm a Vampire again! Last time I checked I was a Scooby Member. How many posts do you have to do for each ranking now?

What I meant was like, at the bottom of the home page, it always says the thread that was most recently updated and by who. It was convenient before because when you clicked that, it would take you right to the post. Now when you click it, it takes you to the first page of the thread and from there you go to the last page and then scroll down to the last post. It was just a nice little way of saving a step before.

Actually most forums have a clickable icon thing that will take you to the most recent post in a topic. It's one of the few things I think ProBoards truly lacks. Otherwise I'm liking this upgrade, as was pointed out now we can see home countries and what excuses one may or may not have for bad grammar! No excuses for spelling though, with the spell check I'm sure the "too many connections" problem is just because of our withdrawal, or the fact that his was just upgraded. I'm getting that too, though I'm able to refresh the pages faster with the super cable modem! I have now. No more dial-up! And happy birthday to HMI, who is showing up at the bottom of the page in the "Today's Birthdays" box.

Yeah, right there with you. I've been kicked off like 5 times now... Which is odd, cause that never happend before.
I like the new version and such, quick reply, spell check, and yeah.

I'm with TheSecondEvil and Louvampyer. There are some nice things (Karma seems fun, Quick Reply is nice, and thank the Gods! Spell Check!) but I don't like the new look very much, but then, I hardly deal well with change. I'm likin' this Karma thing though, what a fun idea.

Some good things like the karma, spell check, and quick reply. But I really didn't see anything wrong with the old version, when it comes to looks I thought the old version was better. I think now there is too much distracting text in the left sig. (location, the second set of stars). At least a few good things came out of it though.

What is up with those stars? I didn't get a second set I could have sworn there was another set when I first logged back in...

Too. Many. Things. On. Screen! And that's after I turned off sigs and avatars. Just have to get used to it, I guess.
And for some reason, when you give someone karma, it takes you to the user's profile. What's the point of that?
