I always wish they had expanded the VM franchise wider Action figures would of been amazing! But then, so would a final season set of cards from Inkworks. Grrrr. Congrats on the bust purchases!

I got my Busts and Cards today, but I got the Variant one blue Veronica I was never told I was going to get that one I emailed them to see what they say about it. Well, from what I heard the blue shirt VM variant is far more rare than the pink one so also means better quality work. I would recommend keeping it and perhaps later on getting a cheap one from CQ. They often tend to have nice newsletter sales which help save a lot of money.

Yeah, I will keep it...I do think it is better quality first they said I can send it back and get the pink one, then I kept emailing them, then they said I can have it for $15 + postage (and with some for emailing) and then they said I can have it free and just pay more for shipping next time I buy the Supernatural bust from them, and the I emailed asking if I could get the Faith 12" and get it sent with that (not sure I want anymore bust that are not Sam)... and then they stooped emailing me back to my emails . (they got sick of me) Side note he said they are making Supernatural 12" figures for sale in Dec 09

Man, Cinequest really sucks doesnt it? I disagree. Despite the outcome they did something no other was willing to try - produce produces of shows that aren't successful enough for toy companies to be interested at. Keep in mind, CQ is a private retailer and not a major toy company. They don't have as much money to trow around so they invested what they could. If VM wasn't canceled we would still get those variant 80s busts along with wave two (Weevil and Wallace). But with the show being canceled they could not take a risk and had to cut loses. I agree that the products could have look better but overall we got a decent quality busts.

Lack of money for the company is only an explanation for poor quality of merchandise, not an ecscuse. If they can't provide quality products, then they shouldnt buy the licence.
Most of the busts they churn out look like a special ed student's art project.

KAL-EL, I love that 'Bust', when I was waiting for mine in the mail I did the same thing with season 2 and 3 VM promos... I bet it would not be to hard to make a custom of that... if CQ didn't make VM busts would another companies have interested in it? But at first I hated that they got the Supernatural license, because they were only making busts, but now I am happy they are getting into the 12" stuff...

Most of the busts they churn out look like a special ed student's art project. No other company were willing to take on VM collectibles - Zero. Nada. Zip. Zilch. So you prefer the alternative of not getting anything at all? No problem, don't buy those and pretend these never happened. But flaming a retailer (not even a company) for trying to give the fans what others refused is wrong. Considering we could as easily only dream on having VM collectibles I'm glad CQ took the chance and released these two busts especially since first hand those busts are good - quality wise the paintjobs are excellent and the sculpturing is very detailed. Likeness is average but that's as bad as it gets.

Id rather have no bust at all and hold out hope for a good one than knowing the only one that will ever be is a piece of garbage that looks nothing like the character.
The Veronica Mars licence is one thing becuase no one else might have picked up the line, but they are hogging the Supernatural line and preventing an actual decent company from getting the rights, churning out piece after piece of cheap looking crap. Whenever it buys a tv licence, it essentially dooms that tv show and its fans to a future of horrible merchandise. That is why I apsolutly hate Cinequest.

Id rather have no bust at all and hold out hope for a good one than knowing the only one that will ever be is a piece of garbage that looks nothing like the character. Have you even seen one in person? Because we are all entitled for our opinion but judging something based on pictures is a whole other matter. FYI, they only have license for 12" figures and busts. So they don't prevent any other company to take on the action figures license and such. But guess what, nobody cares or wants the license. The show been on air for 4 years and yet no toy company cares to take on the license and with this being the final year for the show nobody will be investing money. So you can hate CQ as much as you want, but the way I see it - they don't deserve this because all they did was to give a try on the shows nobody else cared enough to pickup. And BTW, have you even seen their Lenore bust or any product in person? Because it seems your opinion is based only on your personal feelings toward CQ rather than on your dislike or their products. Which makes me wonder, did you have a bad experience with the store sometime ago?
