Not sure about anyone else, but back in the 80s, my brother and I loved the few Indiana Jones toys we had: Indy, Cairo Swordsman, Sallah, the horse, truck, and Streets of Cairo. I remember having one of the figure cardbacks and wanting everything else... but for whatever reason, we never got more than those things. Those figures were in scale with our Star Wars and GI Joes (and various other figures like Star Trek: The Motion Picture and Dukes of Hazzard), so we could really have an all-out battle among our favorite toys. Anyways... at SDCC we got our first glimpse of the new toy line prototypes! www.cooltoyreview.com/SDCC07/HasbroIndyI know I'm stoked. I think I read somewhere that these are being sculpted by the same people who work on the Star Wars figures... this being a Hasbro license. I just hope they go with the super articulation that has been used sporadically in the recent Star Wars figures. Also of mention is that they're going to make figures based on all of the movies, not just Indy IV!

Oh, snaps. Man. I'm going to be so broke the rest of the year. I think I'll end up sleeping in a cardboard hut fashioned from action figure packaging at this rate. But hey! New Indy toys!

too small, i want them in scale with neca figures, the details aren't too great in small figures, i always dislike the scale of hasbro.

Hasbro does make "Unleashed" figurines in the 7" scale. (There's hardly any posability to them, so they're just figurines in my eyes.) It's possible they'll make an Unleashed Indy line... after all, Hasbro are making the cutesy-pootsy preschool figurines like they did with Star Wars, Marvel, and now Transformers. I'd collect all of those cutesy figurines besides the regular figures I buy, but my budget and room are saying "no" to that!

A tiny little Indiana Jones with a decent likeness?
Yes please.

I think these have great potential. We already know Hasbro can get a good Harrison Ford likeness, so at leat the main character will look great. I'm also really excited about the busts/statue from GG. It's so great to see Indy stuff again!

Oh yeah, I'm excited about these ones! I actually like the scale...it leaves Hasbro open to playsets & vehicles which are usually too expensice for bigger lines. I really hope the line does well & we received figures from all the movies...especially: Dr. Elsa Schneider Henry Jones Snr. Willie Scott Short Round Malcolm Brody And sooo many more.... Somehow I think Willie & Short Round would look better this time around! These figures were cancelled...never hit shelves.

Yeah, I'm also hoping for vehicles and some playsets. They've got to make the Ark somehow, I mean the whole first film was all about that. The Holy Grail could come with the old knight guy, or that Elsa character. Although a playset / display of that room with all the cups would be neat.
There are so many ideas for this line, it's insane. I hope Hasbro does their best with this line, because the franchise deserves it!
That Willie figure is kinda hideous. Maybe not bad for the early 80s, but I'm sure we can get a better figure in the new line.

So that's Star Wars 3 3/4" scale on the all-plastic figures, I presume? And 12" on the clothed doll?

Craig: yes At least, it seems. I'm getting more excited from seeing these new pics. I know they're basically the same things that we saw in pics from SDCC, but... the super posable Indy is just awesome! Looks like his fedora is removable too. The only thing I'd change is using real fabric like they 80s toys had. Those were done extremely well using real fabric. Not that I want to take off the Cairo Swordsman's black robe and see him in just his sandals and black loincloth/diaper like the old action figure!

Looking at the figure pics again is getting me excited for these... I may have to cut out my GI Joe figure buying to fund my Indy figure buying

Here's the Indy from the Last Crusade wave. All in all, if I didn't want the Indy w/ fertility idol from the Raiders wave, I'd just wait for this one. I'm really undecided on this line. I doubt it will last more than five or six waves, but toys are so expensive these days. I did stop by my local Ace Hardware where these have been showing up early, but no dice just yet. I did, however, find the Drano I was looking for there, so yeah.

Hehe... get your Indy toys and drain unclogging needs in one stop! Well... Wal-Mart settles that problem as well. I just find it odd that Ace carries toys. I never knew...
The Last Crusade figures look great! I'm glad Hasbro decided to cut back on the Star Wars stuff for a while to let us buy up this line. For the record, and for what it's worth, Indy's outfit was much different in Last Crusade than in the first two movies. It might get irritating to have almost as many Indy figures as I have Darth Vaders or Tatooine Luke Skywalkers, though ;-/
