So for everyone who is dying to see what Buffy looks like here is an image curtsy of toynewsi As to be expected very generic and to be honest if I was going through a box of loose figures and came across this figure without packaging and without a cross, I would think to myself when did they make Married with Children figures because this oddly enough could pass as Kelly Bundy. The cross necklace,m the shoulder strap coming down on one side, blonde. You see where I'm going with this right?? Anyway, if I see any more figures I post images up. Feel free to vent over here for ALL your reAction to this.

Hmmm...dying to see or die after seeing? Anyway, as crappy as expected so no big surprise there. The Vinyl Pop ones would be at least cute and I do hope at some point they'd give the line Legacy treatment.

I hope someone out there in that company would think in their head, "Hey I don't see a good likeness, maybe we should send these over to Legacy to do it justice."
To be honeset, They should've just gave Buffy pants cause doing a dress like that is odd. Looks like a cross between Chun-Li and lego's.

Must be 1st April allready? Thats probably the worst Buffy figures Ive ever seen, and tbh I wouldnt even accept those as a gift. I also wonder why the hell there is a Gentleman figure but no Xander or Giles? What are those companys thinking?! Probably googled Buffy and released figures of the first 5 images they were finding... Best thing they could do with their Buffy license is flush it down the toilet...

Not even useable as fodder, what a shame! Why did they bother???

Willow and gentlemen are probably the best out the set. Everything else looks generic like something Kenner would make for fun or to go with their playset.
I hold high expectation for Buffy and angel and they both fell short.

Calm down peeps, Buffy is one of many licenses getting the retro treatment from Funko. They look exactly how they should, I'm just baffled by the demand for this style. I guess I'm too young to get a kick out of them.

What annoys me is that the quality seems to shrink with every new Toy Company taking over the license. MAC was okay allthought their Exclusive Figures were mostly repaints. Still they were nice with lots of accessorys and great bases. Then DST took over, we got figures with tons of flaws and factorys errors like my Youre Welcome Cordy wich legs fell off when I took her out her box, or a Season 5 Anya wich had glue allover her face, or a Princess Cordy wich had ONLY one eyelash, the same bases with different stickers again and again, not even mentioning the scale issue on the Angel line...Palz, Boobleheads... But these really hit the bottom.
They might be nice for anyone buying everything having a Buffy logo on it, or probably younger collectors with a small budget who actually wants to "play" with their figures.

Well I won't be buying this line. I think they're horrible. I know that's their style but I don't understand the demand for figures like this (if there is any). I wish they'd just release some proper 6 inch figure lines again with characters we never got i.e. Gunn rather than waste time and energy on this sort of stuff

OMG at the Bootleg Buffy figures. They are really out there - and I mean literally on that 3rd figure.
Oh about the reaction, I do hope they reject it and make a new one. Same with Angel and Spike. If your going to do them, at least do the STARS right.

Sadly this is just a reflection of the industry at large. MAC were releasing at a time when people could expect multiple accessories and detailed bases, and they were doing pretty impressive sculpts for their time too. Nowadays people are paying more and getting far less. You'll barely ever see a base with a figure at all anymore, and while there's been some leaps in scanning/sculpting processes, quality control seems to be a continuing problem across the board too. I love the sculpts Neca make for instance, but any fan of their product will tell you that what you get once they hit shelves will vary dramatically. DST let standards slip terribly by the end of their run. It's hard to believe the company that put out that first Spike figure released so much garbage later on. Shame they didn't focus on the deluxe line tbh, because they were mostly far superior to the regular offerings. The sad fact is, they may have crapped out so many figures that no other company will touch the license again.

Wait wasn't MAC the 1st to release SPIKE? DST just expanded the variation of the character.
And actually I get your point henz, but I don't think DST was the one that screwed it up. It will be Funko. Unlike DST who took over from MAC and started doing new figures in the same size and scale (-the few at the end), but Funko is starting out with 3 3/4 scale line and remaking the same characters that were already previously released and based on the prototypes pictured above - it is seriously lacking compared to the other venders that held the Buffy license.

Well IMO it started with DST. The Willow Wave was nice, but then seeing the pictures of the Chosen Buffy Prototype (wich were also used for the selling sheet) where her leg almost fell off, and her pants had lots of chips I knew this company had no intrest in giving us quality products. The Prototypes from MAC were perfect, looking at the Adam/Fyral Giles wave. Also the Angel Wesley/Lorne Line was incredible and I would have killed for that Lorne figure...
The Neca sculpts are perfect, but I gotta admit the final paintjobs do often look very sloppy, but still, their way of sculpting clothings is perfect, then looking again at the DST Chosen Buffy... well...
Looking at the Funko Homepage I can allready tell Im not gonna be a friend of them :/

I think you guys are being way too harsh on these! I think they're a pretty neat novelty item. They're not supposed to be on par with the (better) Buffy action figures we got in the past, they're supposed to look like vintage action figures from the 70's-80's and they captured that really well. I do agree that some of these are unidentifiable to their character which is why if I ever do pick these up I'll keep them unopened even though I open all my figures.

Claw, you really get what they're going for here. These are about what I expected, fun for the novelty of what if Buffy figures were made in the 80s, but nothing I would buy.

^ Exactly. They're a niche item. I'm sure some people will get a kick out of them. Wait wasn't MAC the 1st to release SPIKE? DST just expanded the variation of the character. And actually I get your point henz, but I don't think DST was the one that screwed it up. It will be Funko. MAC did the first Spike yes, but I was refering to the first figure sculpted under DST's care, which was the Spike figure from the second Angel wave. That figure was leaps and bounds above the sculpts that followed. I'm not sure what happened, but DST really let things slip, and really quickly too. Funko have no responsibility to continue a toy line that ended nearly 10 years ago. Nor will their choice of retro styling kill an already dead run. In fact, as the first company to touch Buffy figures again in a long time, and with their recent move into detailed 6-inch sculpts (they've already announced plans to persue Firefly in that format), they could do great things for us fans. Well IMO it started with DST. The Willow Wave was nice, but then seeing the pictures of the Chosen Buffy Prototype (wich were also used for the selling sheet) where her leg almost fell off, and her pants had lots of chips I knew this company had no intrest in giving us quality products. Looking at the Funko Homepage I can allready tell Im not gonna be a friend of them :/ Yup. I agree. It's easy to romanticise MAC's run when they had some serious issues of their own (oh god, the delays, the cancellations ) but their output was mostly fantastic. I still have those figures on display at my parents' house. The only DST figures that I have kept are a handful of deluxe figures. DST were pretty good with heads, but the body sculpts were mostly garbage. Then there were some serious quality control issues and problems with scale too. I actually quite like the Angel/Illyria figure sculpts, but they're enormous. Meh.
