Everyone has different opinions. You can all state yours and feel free to disagree politely, but don't start knocking one another for thinking differently. Keep it civil.
Paint job looks good from what I can see. It also makes the chair less prominent. Are there any better photos?
I'm not a collector so I look at these as potential fodder for customising. If Buffy is removable from the tres ugly chair, I'll be happy. Then I can do a custom of her sitting on something else, and give her longer hair.

""I guess my biggest problem with the throne is that the creators think it suits her, and is a symbol of her power. And that they called that stake Mr Pointy.
I can imagine that the throne isn't hers, and I can get over the uglyness of the throne in case Buffy looks good. But I wonder how this line will turn out if sideshow doesn't get the characters. I mean, the Willow sketch shows Willow in a very short skirt. "
But in the video, it is clear that they don't mean that the throne is HER throne. Just a throne that she is sitting on.
I can't afford this line anyway, so I suppose it does not matter, but, the alternative of her sitting on a gravestone would probably be just as creepy as a creepy chair, wouldn't it?

Not really, because sitting on a grave stone, which I've bet she's done a lot while taking a break from patrolling (I think I recall a scene in the graveyard when she's talking to someone while sitting on a gravestone, but I might be imagining it) doesn't make her look... what's the word, egotripped?
I think Buffy would consider a throne tacky (yet easy to make fun of). Now, if we asked Cordelia, we would get a very different answer. She would love it.
But maybe it works when we see her painted, I have no idea how her facial expression willl effect the full impact. A mischevious smile could probably make the throne work.

I just pre-ordered this statue tonight! I ordered the *exclusive* edition as well ;D Sideshow has complete pictures up on the site now. After shipping charges, and my new customer discount the total is going to be around $257, so it's *NOT* cheap. But the statue and chair look amazing! I wasn't fond of the chair when I saw the unpainted pictures, but the finished prototype looks *EPIC*

Id rather would see her standing, or at least like allready mentioned sitting on a gravestone. Besides that, I really really hate her hair. Faith would look great in a chair, playing with the jackal knife.

I think it looks great too. However, I really wish you could remove her from the throne. And I really wish it wasn't so much money... UGH> Sideshow knows that Buffy fans are willing to pay big bucks for Buffy stuff. I so would have wanted more 12 inch figures, so many more characters they could have done (Anya, Illyria,Tara, Wes, etc.). They just want higher price points.

I am a glutten for punishment, so I have Wait Listed the Exclusive too. The painted proto is not as bad as the original sculpted that we saw in the video. Yes, the throne is wrong, a grave would have been classic, but nice detail and she looks good. Plus the scythe swung it. With shipping from the US to the UK and VAT, lord help me, probably $400 in total. Never mind.....

It will probably be over 500 for me, with VAT, shipping and customs.
I might have to cancel my pre order on the ex in the end. *sigh*

I signed up for the wait list of the exclusive, if I am going to dish out that much money than it might as well be on the exclusive. Now I just have to save up lots of money, so much to pay for this year from last year still. If they do more of these statues this year while the Tiki Statues are coming out then this year is going to be an expensive year, it is just a good thing that my last car payment is next month.

What's different about the exclusive? Is it just the extra scythe?
