I read on this website that CineQuest aquired a license to some SPN merch, and they would be making two waves of SPN busts and *hopefully* some 12" Sam & Dean figures - but that report was published near the end of 2007. Does anyone know if these will be released soon? I know that Season 5 will premiere Sep 10th in the US, so shouldnt this merch be released pretty soon? I know that they've made some Dean, Scarecrow, John and Lenore busts, but what about Sam and the supposed 'Woman in White' bust? Heres the report BTW: firefox.org/news/articles/768/1/CineQuest-To-Produce-quotSupernaturalquot-Action-Figures-and-Mini-busts/Page1.html

They really need to make some toys from this show.
I'd love to see Sideshow or Hot Toys or someone like that give it a try.

I talked with the guy at cinequest about 6 months ago about these. He said towards the end of the year but it was sort of a maybe due bust not selling all that well! Its been a while but thats what I remeber him saying. I know a lot didnt care for the bust. I liked them enough to get them and I think they decent! the dean likeness needed alittle more work. But the Lenore is great I think! I still hoping for a Sam bust! and the 12inch figures!

Terrible busts will sell terribly.
Who'd have thought!

Eh. Surely they realise that the market for busts is different to the market for action figures (irrespective of scale). I don't own a single bust. I own MANY action figures.
That typed, if their action figures looked anything like their busts, it would be an easy pass (despite my deep admiration for the tv series).
Cheers.

I agree, the busts were terrible. The idea for them was good as to not release to many but the likenesses were really off. As for the figures as long as the 12" figures had a pretty good likeness I would consider purchasing them, especially a Lenore Figure-the bust wasn't very good.

^ I haven't seen that, but I do remember seeing a picture of a Head prototype for a Sam mini-bust and it was horrible.
I'll try to find it if it hasn't been posted somewhere here before. I'm not sure if it's old news or not...

That would have made a good action figure, it's too bad about his no neck. It would be nice if even a company like NECA would pick up Supernatural and make 6"figures, I think that they could pull of the likenesses of Sam and Dean very well.

I found this picture on Photobucket: And frankly I think he looks alright. The likeness isn't bad at all but the cloths are too bulky and he's kind of "lost" inside of those cloths. Perhaps a much fitted shirt would work better.

It's an OK figure, but to me he should have a slightly wider brow and some parts of his facial features make him look older; not sure what it is though. Having said that I would definitely take that over one of the busts.

I agree he does look OK, but there is something that he is missing. His forehead looks to tall and his hair should cover his forehead a bit more.

The 12" figure looks okay.
Better than the busts, but compared to the likeness that other sculptors can re-create in the 12" scale, it's not great or even "very good". I think part of the problem is the fringe/bangs. I can't recall ever really seeing Sam without his forehead covered in hair.
The clothes look pretty atrocious. It's "Sailor Sam" (even if the clothes the doll is wearing are based on a promo photo, it doesn't seem very representative of "Sam" and hasn't translated well to doll clothes).
It will be interesting to see whether the 12" figures are ever released.
Cheers.

Hmmmm... I agree he isn't amazing, or even 'very good'...but he's ok I guess. Looks more like a football player from the 80's. Can't wait to see Jensen.

This was the other photo I had mentioned earlier in the thread: It was labeled as being for a bust, but I guess (since it looks exactly the same of the 12" figure), it must just be for that. IMO the likeness isn't there at all. Considering the past work with Jensen's likeness on the busts, I'm not surprised though.

the nose is way off.. way too narrow/pointy.. Jared has kind of a wider, pug nose (though cute)

If they do some variants on these dolls, I would love to see the guys in the black 'Blues Brothers' looking suits.
