I finished up The Stone Rose by Jacqueline Rayner. (Doctor Who series) It was much better than I thought it'd be. I'll definitely be checking out the other books.

Well I just finished The Doctor Trap, a new Doctor Who novelization with Donna and the Doctor, very cool and interesting plot devices...
Now I am re-reading The Royal Diary of Eleanor, Crown Jewel of Aquataine and Beedle the Bard...

I finished everything and am almost to the end of Breaking Dawn... it is soooo good, I am actually getting sad that the pages I have left are fewer each time I read!

The Lovely Bones is excellent. She's got the same surname as you, hasn't she, Jess?
If you like that, try "The Time Traveller's Wife". That's my favourite book that I read in 2008.
I'm currently reading "The Book Thief". A great story set in Germany during WWII, where a german family are hiding a Jew in their basement. Poignant but not depressing. Quite witty as well.

OK. Finished "Band of Brothers", brilliant & now onto Stephen Fry in America. A few pages in and as witty as I expected it to be.

Recently finished: Marley and Me (BLAH!), The Time Traveller's Wife (favourite book of 2008), The God of Small Things (one of the worst books I've read in quite a while), The Lost Army (excellent, as with most of Manfredi's historical fiction) and The Book Thief (a little slow to start, but definitely worth it in the end).
There were a few others, but I read them so quickly that I can barely recall them.
Currently reading: A Lion Among Men (excellent so far and I'm only half way through).
Books waiting to be read: The first three "Dexter" novels, the first seven (?) "Sookie Stackhouse" (of Tru Blood fame) novels and Russell T Davies' "The Writer's Tale" (about the writing/producing of "Doctor Who").
Cheers.

I'm about to start on The Master & Marguerita. I read it in college and loved it then. My mum re-read it recently (new translation from the Russian), and was raving about it, so I was inspired to re-read it myself. All I remember is that it is about a very naughty devil.

The Lovely Bones is an amazing book .. So sad, but beautiful .. Would highly recommended to anyone!! I heard they were making a movie of it .. Hope they don't "Hollywood" it (i.e. ruin it)!! lol peter jackson is directing it so it wont be bad Im sure of that. I know most people only know him fron king kong and lord of the rings but if you saw his earlier film heavenly creatures Im sure youd be put at rest. that film is brillllliant. I jus finsihed reading two king books...Dreamcatcher and his most recent Duma Key. Both were frigging INCREDIBLEEEEE. Duma key is my favourite king book so far now, and Iv read a lot...lol. So amazing. Im now reading this book caled the Lost throne...which so far...sucks ass. Its so amateur the way its written, reminds me of Dan Brown whos sooo over rated. Compared to my normal king books I read majority of other stuff is rubbish. although I may now look into the time travellers wife seeing as a couple of you have recommended that.

Yeah she does have the same surname. It's kind of strange because my surname isn't very popular. She might be some relation to my family though, as she does live in the same area where my relatives come from. She may be distantly related. Kind of cool. I'm enjoying the book so far. I just finished Of Mice and Men. And I just started Through the Storm by Lynne Spears. I'm just in a few pages and I can already tell that I don't like the woman.
