This is clearly based on the same sculpt as the figure and I think it suffers from the same overly big head. Which is a shame, but he still looks pretty nice. If they did the same price point that MAC did when they did their figures turned to statues ($35-40 I think) this would be a fantastic deal. If he's $80 or more, that's really tough for a fan like me to justify. He's not that major a character and I don't think there are really any figures that would go well on this stand with him... None episode specific that I can recall.
I like the idea of statues, but as others have said, the Judge works so well as a figure. He's made of pieces!

That's so great !
I didn't hope to read anything new, that's why I didn't notice this thread earlier I think...
And how much would it cost to get it ?

I say lose the stairs and go for the lowest price point possible. I don't think I can justify this much money on that myself. Kudos to all who want this though, we sure need some new Buffy merch!

Wow. I was expecting the price point to be higher actually. I'm glad that it is lower then their Serenity statues but It would be nice if they could get this down to the $50 range.

I think pre-orders are pretty critical in us getting this and future Big Bad statues. (The reason given for the last few cancellations was lack of interest). As soon as it goes up at TST (and I did send John in customer service there an email about getting the listing up) and/or DST I'm in also.

Just think how cool a snake Mayor at podium would be! Or even Hamilton in W&H lobby. Or the demon w/ the scythe (actual scythe not slayer scythe) in "To Shanshu in LA". Or a really cool Master. Black Eyed Caleb (fit in great w/ EoD buffy). Plus the one's mentioned early like Adam.

I hope to see many more before profits diminish.

I am going to go slightly off-topic just to mention that MAC's Judge bust is a GREAT collectible. It's way bigger than the recent DST busts, and it's pretty detailed. I highly recommend it.
The other demon busts by MAC are awesome, too. I just wish MAC would have made a bust of the Master. That was a major oversight.

This statue looks really great! The only figure that I was really devastated about missing out on was the Judge figure. It just looked like such a great figure. I will definately be buying this statue when it comes out. I think they made a good choice in making the Judge rather than another character. It will be nice to get one final item to add to my Buffy collection.

The Judge was indeed at SDCC, and looked fantastic. He was over in the Previews booth on a shelf by himself at the bottom. Up close, he looks fantastic. The paint is great, the detail in his shawl (??) was top-notch. The base is kind of huge, unnecessarily so. I would rather have a smaller base and shave some dollars off the asking price than pay for all that, but Drusilla and Angel can easily stand behind him.
Y'know, if we had ever gotten a Drusilla to match.
I am definitely purchasing The Judge, I just hope I can get a good deal somewhere. The BCC still has like $40 or $50 dollars of mine hung-up in cancelled pre-orders. Guess I'll start that process...

I really do this the idea behind the large base is DST intends to release other figures in this formate to go with him (mainly a Dru) in such a way as the Serenity statues were released to be displayed on other bases. I don't see why DST would release such a big base otherwise, unless the idea was just to display other Big Bads like Glory and such. Whether or not this happens is another story, but the intention is there I think. Did any body ask about Buffy stuff/future statues in that format? Like it's been said, I didn't even know he was on display.

Pics from SDCC 74.52.193.82/events/main.php?g2_itemId=108333I changed my mind. I've got a new job, some money and will probably actually buy this; but I'm going to wait on pics of the real thing first though because of DST's track record. I want to support these as this is a far better sculpt than their figures. I'd happily buy others but I'm not looking to start a collection. I'm getting Judge because he was in MAC's plans back when, but I'm not really interested in Angelus/Dru/Buffy complimentory pieces. I'd rather other villains like Adam, Turok Han or the Beast.

I talked to to Chuck there till he snapped at me that the serenity line is dead. For the Judge statue line he kind of spoke of it as an extension almost of the Essence line. And he gave me the standard drill that if the sales are there they'll make more. Also that they still have the Adam prototype locked in away in their storage facility and there's no chance of them seeing the light of day. And that they shopped it around when they first got the line but TST etc didn't want it, so Adam will probably not be the next one after the Judge if there is a next one. (he was getting testy enough talking Whedonverse stuff before the AFT panel that when I raised my hand to ask a BSG question of him during the panel his first response was to thank me for not asking about Serenity- since I'd talked to him about Serenity for a while at each of the last three cons.)
Oh and I talked to Brian Lynch and asked if they would consider pursuing a Gunn S6 exclusive (maybe a vamp Gunn) but he said they had talked to DST about it right off the bat but they had said it would take a couple years to clarify the rights and produce and so the figure would miss S6 by WAY to long. I wish I'd have remembered to ask about a NFA Gunn since it would have S6 and DST's license but I didn't... I also wrote them once so if anyone wants to write and ask about an NFA Gunn maybe having more than one person communicate interest would reinvigorate their interest in it. S6 will be going for a while yet w/ Spike ATF so there would still be time maybe.
