Cool Updates Hmmm. Looking at it on a whole, i keep finding something slightly 'off' about S1 Buffy's face. I dunno whether its the amount of light you've added, or the proportions, but yeah. Nothing too bad that totally ruins the piece tho. S3 has to be my favourite so far- the likeness, and attitude you've captured from the scene are Great!

I really appreciate all of the comments! They mean a lot to me and have really inspired me along with this drawing. Here is an update scan of the whole drawing so far. The next portrait is "Grave" Buffy which I am in the process of reworking...I just hope that this one portrait doesn't mess the whole drawing up...everyone keep your fingers crossed ;D Cool Updates Hmmm. Here is the revised sketch of the "Grave" Buffy portrait. I have decided to go with a suggestion given to me by Shaz (Msperoxideluv). I am depicting Buffy from the moment where she tells Dawn "I don't want to protect you from the world...I want to show it to you". The buyer and I have decided that this is the pivotal scene in the episode (other than the Yellow crayon Xander/ willow scene) because it is when Buffy decides that she wants to live. When finished I will also include a small subtle tear, I am still not sure of the immediate background... the drawing itself will dictate how it blends in...LOL Personally I like this revised look better than what I had originally...but I want to know what you think. Special Hugs for Shaz for once again being an awesome source of inspiration ;D

While I liked the previous "Grave" Buffy, I think this one is also brilliant, especially since it was indeed a very important moment in Buffy's life.

I told scotty i was going to wait until this was finished before commenting on it, but....
I have to say that i LOVE the new 'grave' portrait! The other picture was good, but i think this one has captured such an important moment for buffy perfectly! (kudos to msperoxideluv for suggesting it!).
When i first asked scotty to do this, i wasn't really worried about how the 'grave' image would look, because at the time it didn't seem like as much of an iconic episode for buffy as the other finales, but the more i think about it, it's probably the most important moment. Because in this scene, buffy finally chooses to live (and also, it's kind of nice to have a smiling buffy in the picture!).
I know scotty was a bit concerned about including 'grave' buffy, but hopefully he's ok with it now!! (?)

I am so glad that you are pleased with the drawing so far. I very pleased with "Grave" Buffy now. I wasn't sold on her in the first sketch... but now with the new idea (Thanks Shaz) I can now put some emotion and feeling into the portrait where before I felt that the "Grave" portrait was bland. I am glad that Browncoat encouraged me to work with the Grave portrait and not go the easy route and change it to another episode (I originally suggested using OMWAF Buffy instead), the portrait presented a challenge and now that I have "worked it out" ...I can not see this drawing without the "Grave" portrait. Stay tuned...The "Grave " and "Chosen" portraits will be completed this weekend and the finished drawing will finally be revealed

Scotty i'm glad your liking it now! I could see why you thought it may look out of place (i kind of did too), but i truly think it has turned out brilliantly (and i'm not just saying that cos i was all stubborn about it being included ). I will comment on the drawing more when it's finished, but i have got to say that you have exceeded my expectations with this artwork. And believe me, they were very high after looking at all your other art!!

The 'grave' image is superb! I love the background!!! It's so cool you managed to put a graveyard in Buffy needs a cemetery (also, i love how when buffy finally decides to embrace life, she's in a place full of death...it's rather beautiful). I'm loving this 'grave' image way more than i thought i would. I think it holds it's own amongst the iconic images of buffy with the scythe and crossbow etc.
