The hair on her head seems to have more the look of wet mud, then it does real hair.
I'm amazed that on a product that's so expensive that they release something like that.
They have spent so much effort on getting a wonderful likeness only to muck it up at the last 'hurdle' so to speak.

It seems that Sideshow had to get something together for SDCC, and the hair wasn't quite ready. I feel bad for Sideshow really looking at that picture now. They are a company that are sticklers for detail afterall.

Figure.com posted images from different angles and the hair seems even worse.

Good to see buffy's had a breast reduction. I disagree... Firstly, because in the first season, Buffy wore a push-up bra and the prototype was how her breasts looked in the S1 promo shoot the statue is based on. Secondly, the breasts weren't really reduced--the cleavage lines were made shallower, which makes the breasts look like one big uniboob with a slight crease down the middle. It looks awful IMHO, and anatomically freakish.

I think she wore a push-up bra, too.
Anyway, I think you guys are exaggerrating when it comes to the hair. I agree that it could/should be improved, but it's not THAT bad. And it's not worse than before when it was defying gravity. The figure is really only made to be viewed from the front, and the hair looks OK from the front.

I disagree... Firstly, because in the first season, Buffy wore a push-up bra Buffy wore a push-up bra In the first season, yes, she absolutely did. You can look at any S1 episode or most of the S1 photoshoots and it's obvious. Otherwise she'd have had to have dropped a full cup size between S1 and S2. At any rate, the "uniboob" on the figure is IMHO more distracting than the bland hair. The cleavage isn't actually "cleaved" anymore and looks unnaturally "merged" and cartoony.

I'm actually wishing they had left it the way it was rather than give us blob hair. I have already made my 1st payment for this figure but I am going to get in touch with SS to ask them to either cancel my order and refund the money or swap the payment to the new PF Spike figure because Buffy now officially sucks big style.

well on the contrairy to what people say, i really like this figure and the hair, it just seems that when sideshow are making something, we have to get out our torches and pitchforks. i just feel that IMO that yous have all saw this and are thinking "theyve changed it, it looks horrible!!"
If anyone else has noticed they havent changed the sculpt one bit, the have just flattened the hair from the curls to lie flat against the body, hence the flatness, you now what wee all screamed for.
I, for one am looking forward to display this figure PROUDLY with my 12" figures

I'm just gonna assume that they're still not finished on the hair on Buffy's right and a further fix is coming. Because right now, it looks like she has some abnormal mat of hair. Otherwise, though, I'm very pleased with this figure and can't wait to get her (though I've got no place to display her as of now).

[glow=red,2,300]PEOPLE WHO HAVE BUFFY ON ORDER AND HAVE A PROBLEM WITH HER HAIR,[/glow]
[glow=red,2,300]WRITE SIDESHOW A NOTE AND TELL THEM HOW YOU FEEL. MAYBE SIDESHOW WILL PUSH THE RELEASE DATE BACK AND RE-WORK THE FIGURE. SIDESHOW HAS DONE THAT WITH OTHER FIGURES.[/glow]
I just wrote them a minute ago.

What if that isn't the final version and everyone cancels it and it ends up looking great. Better to find out first before you do anything drastic.

Yeah, a lot of people on this other forum I visit are talking about cancelling their orders. I think people should write Sideshow first and see what happens.

That does sound like a great idea.
Where on their site does it say you can email them? Is there one central email addy or something?

I emailed them yesterday to cancel my order or use my first flexpay payment on the new Spike instead. I will let you know what the answer is when I get it.

Where on their site does it say you can email them? Is there one central email addy or something? Go to Sideshow's website and look for Customer Service on the bar that runs down the left side. Click the "Contact Us" link and then the "Customer Service Form" link. You will be presented with a bunch of categories to choose from. I just chose "Other."

No problem.
I received a reply from Sideshow Customer Service. It said, "I'd be happy to forward your comments to our Product Development Team." SO WRITE SIDESHOW. IT COULD MAKE A DIFFERENCE.
