Everyone always talks about how atrocious the Fred figure is but I'm wondering how many people still got it. Considering it's the only Fred figure out there and she's a very popular character it will be interesting to see. And we still don't really know how well she sold.
Me... I was going to get her, but when I saw the finished product... I vowed never to own her as long as I lived.
So spill! Did you buy Manfred and why?

I bought her. I love Fred and couldn't not get the figure. Yes, I hate the height, the outfit, the body, but I think it looks like Fred (head only). And the accesiories and the base are great too.

I got her though I soon used her parts for customs. Now her head is on a deluxe Faith body. I loved the stuff she came with and her wall base is still my favorite out of the bunch.

I might have actually paid full price for one. I don't remember. I got a couple with the BCC customs case.I got a couple free with purchases from the BCC. I bought another Fred head somewhere. I get them only for the heads for customs. My cat stole one of the heads and I never found it. Cats. I would never display that big Fred. Not only is she gargantuan, but I think it's an ugly outfit. I don't like her hair in pigtails, either. I hope we get a season 5 sexy Fred someday. Or a Magic Bullet Fred in that cool red blazer with the white piping detail.

I bought the Freds. I also have two custom Freds by Alyrenee. If they do a Sideshow Fred that looks like Amy, I will get that too. I kinda like Fred, she was cute and goofy in a sexy kinda way.

Did people not like her because of her scale? With Dawn and Buffy having scale issues too, is Fred looking better to everyone now?

Since Fred is my FAVOURITE character ever in the Buffy/Angel-verse, I was planning on definately getting on. So when I finally saw her in person (I wasn't gonna just make my judgement from online pics, etc) I was so upset! The ONLY Fred figure we get, and she looks like.... well, not Fred. It was all beastly and ick. So, no, I didn't get a Fred, but I may buy one later, if I get enough money again.

I've got Fred and apart from the whole height issue, I really like Fred. Height wise she's hideous but overall Fred isn't that bad.

I got Fred and the two Illyria's! I have them on a shelf on their own and you can't really tell they're taller than they should be!

I bought Fred, but just for the headsculpt, which I placed on a s5 Anya body. I've been working on this custom for quite a while, I'll post pictures in the customs soon.
Actually, the face sculpt is pretty good once you loose the TERRIBLE paint job and the melon-head hair. And the nose Fred needs to be a bit pointier (the Illyra sculpt has a better Fredlike nose). The body is completely useless, even for customs. The body is even too large for the head, given that the head is fine on the much much smaller Anya body.

I bought all of them, I don't mind them. All mine are MOC though, so the size doesn't matter to me that much.

I voted: "No - I never wanted one in the first place.", but i still think it's a shame for the fans that they made her look like a giant. If her head fits on the Anya body so well, why not just mix and match a few parts and make a new(better) one DST??

Fred scale is totally wrong. But I like mine. I think the likeness is good (but it would be perfect with a better paintjob). I don't have problem with the hair, I think the pigtails are totally Fred in season 3. The outfit is not sexy, but it's not that bad. If the figure would have been 85 % in scale of the actual figure, I think the size would have been perfect. But I want new Freds with better scale and outfits.

I got her because I have a complete collection. But she is not the best figure. The head sculpt if pretty good and I have made a few customs of her. I'm makeing a Fredless custom right now of her in the hoodie and jeans using a Dawn body and she looks great with the long neck. I'll have her done in a few days, watch for her on the custom board. She look a lot better than the regular figure. I'm actually thinking about keeping this one in my collection instead of the regular one...maybe.

If her head fits on the Anya body so well, why not just mix and match a few parts and make a new(better) one DST?? Well, scale-wise it fits, which is suprising given the huge difference in body sizes, but it's not a simple swap, because Fred has a balljointed neck whereas Anya doesn't. Nevertheless, a headswap with any of the new Buffy, Dawn or Cordelia figures could be pretty easy.

I think they could make a great "Magic Bullet" Fred using a YW Cordy body and Illyria's head....In fact I just might do that.

I was planning on getting her but after seeing how bad she looked I just skipped her and had to settle with the ornament.

I bought 2 - one for my collection as-is, and the other I sanded/whittled,cut down to make a "normal" size Fred. It was a lot of work but actually turned out well. I eventually got tired of just having a smaller twin Fred so I turned her into a "Fredless" custom which I like even better. Had her scale been better in-scale, I'd have probably gotten a couple more Freds, and certainly an extra Shells to make a Season 5 Fred. I always had this belief that DST originally considered making a Fred variant from the Shells Illyria but cancelled it after the size fiasco. I guess we'll never know for sure! And yes, I can vouch that the Fred head works wonderfully on the Dawn bodies. Oddly enough, Dawn's head is wayyy bigger than Fred's! SO with scale all over the place the way it is (and with Bog Broad Cordy coming up, it's obviously a tradition that is on-going) I guess Fred's not looking so out of scale anymore - though body-wise she's still a monster!
