I've received permission from a mod to post this, and changes will be made if they would like them. This thread will be here so that all fanfiction writers, posters, and commenters will help to make this section more organized and readable.
If you are writing a series, you may only make one post a week for your series. This section had been overcrowded with new posts and not many fanfictions are getting read. You may post once a week with a new episode, and reply to all the comments you want to keep it current, just don't get excessive. One-shot posters or announcements will be kept to one per new author a week, and they also are allowed to reply to those who've commented.
Commenters - do not being up new threads older than 2 weeks. We do not need old threads covering up the new ones. If you'd like old episodes of a series, or want to comment on an old episodes, please do it in the new episode's thread and reference it in your comment. You can also contact the offer for old episode or post here if you'd like to know where to find old episodes.
Always remember to be courteous. If you don't like something, don't be mean after you read it, just refrain from going back. No one is making you read or comment on anything, just use your best judgement.
Do not solicit over PM. There have been complaints that people try to get readers via PM or the Tag board. Please refrain from crowding readers' or potential readers' PM boxes or tag conversations. Once a day via Tag, or once a month via PM is alright, do not get excessive.
Use you best judgement. Don't post if you don't want a reply, and act the way you'd like others to treat you. If you have a problem, leave a comment here or pm me directly. I won't turn away any questions or complaints.
If anyone has any questions, feel free to contact me here or via pm. Thank you again!
Hadley

I like the rules had. They are good standards. I will have no problem following them. What was the rule on posting announcements or previews/trailers? Is there a rule. I don't think it has become a problem yet, but... Who knows. Can we still post announcements? Anyway, I think the rules are great.

Most likely, 1 announcement only per author per week, and make sure this post is far from the other, unless you're announcing a new series. Try and keep trailers with your episodes as much as you can!

Hadley - all I can say is Thank You so much! You've made my day. Recently, there has been so much bumping in the section that it's getting beyond ridiculous (Bringing up Action Figure episodes over four months old) all for the sake of what? A one word reply? It's disheartening to see fanfics such as Wicca, Afterlife or my own being pushed to the bottom of the page within a day of being posted. So I'm really glad these rules have been introduced Just make sure people stick to them.

I really like the PM rule. I understand people want others to read their fics, but the PM's about it can really get annoying, if i want to read the fics, i can find them by myself. I'm not trying to offend anybody, i love how you guys put so much time in making/writing these. But PM's like that don't make me go "O wow, let's read this"... they just make me go "*sigh*"

I think these rules are very acceptable! I will admit i done some PM to some members and to be honest i didn't know that would annoy people.. Sorry Everyone! As for the bumping of the old threads- Maria read my series and said she would try looking for past episodes to get the storyline since she is in like half way through the series, so i helped her out and sent her a link with every episode through PM and it just so happened she posted on most (if not all) of the old episodes and most of them contained questions so i had to answer them. Sorry if i have offended or annoyed anybody by doing this i was just doing her a favor and she was just returning it by commenting on all the episodes. I was a little confused with all old episodes flying about, i didn't know what was a new thread and what was an old one! Sorry again! I don't usually flood the section with episodes, i do one episode every Sunday/Monday and give some information in the same thread for next weeks episode mid-week, so I'm fine there. Apart from these that i have admitted and apologized for, i think these rules are essential! ;D

But afer you could have answered her questions thru PM since the episodes were all old In the first place. It saves a lot of people from having a fit

We're starting anew, and the past is the past, these are the new rules and everyone seems to feel they're acceptable. I hope people do stick to them, they'll allow people flexibility when reading and be more willing to check out the section.

Amen I am loving these new rules, its great now that people are limited to how many epsiodes they are posting this way everyone will get a chance for their fan-fics to be seen without it being bumped after such a short period. Also it will be good for people not to feel pressurised into reading fanfics via countless pm's. You are doing a great job, Justhad!

Okay, just so I don't mess up, I've got like 20 poems and just one chapter because they aren't series -- you know -- standalones, is there a rule for them? Like only one of them a week? Or can I post them all at once?

You can post them either once a week for 1 poem, or post them all in the same thread. The thing we're just trying to fix is the multiple thread a week thing. Hope this helps - if you have any other questions, you can pm me directly

These are great rules, this section definatley needed it I kind of gave up with the section for sometime as it took me ages to wade through for my favs Kissing Daylight and The Odd Couple. But now it's so much easier and a relaxing section to be in. It's also helped me get into a few new fanfics because there easier to see instead of a mass of just on series.
Just to clear this up though, it's ok to announce a new series then post the episode a few days later, then after that once a week yeah? Just want to get it right.

Yes, you can make one announcement post, then begin the series any day after (please give 2 days - preferably) and from then once a week!

I'm confused. How has one of my AFS episodes bumped, but there is no new post? This happened to one of SS episodes aswell i noticed. Why are they doing that?

if someone posts, then deletes their response, I think it bumps it.

Yeah thats what i thought, but why would someone delete a comment on the episodes? Maybe they wanted to keep the Action Figure shows dominating the forum Or maybe they posted in the wrong thread? Could be anything. Don't sweat about it - if it was important, they'd have told you.
