Thanks for starting this. I got my NECA HBP figures at TRU last week. I'm not entirely sure what happened with this wave . To begin with, why the delay? The fact that these didn't hit TRU until almost 3 weeks after the film's release will probably hurt TRU's sales significantly. Second of all, the quality on this series is all over the place. Or more accurately, the paint decisions that NECA made baffle me. Overall the quality is nice and consistent, but a lot of little things are bothering me. Draco - His hair is almost green. I know blonde hair is hard to paint, but I'm really not a fan of how it turned out this time. But what's really getting to me is his uniform. Do different houses have different uniforms? Yes, I know the tie changes color, etc, but the Gryffindor students have navy outfits and Draco has a grey outfit. It's quite noticeable on the shelf and strikes me as odd. In the films, all the students have grey uniforms (from what I can tell), but NECA decided to make them navy. It doesn't really bother me, but I wish they had at least been consistent. Harry - I haven't even opened this figure yet. I don't why, but it's just hard to care for this figure. The glasses are great, but the lip is weirdly prissy and the pose makes no sense (especially the left hand). We already have so many Harry figures, but this one can't be displayed with anyone. If we got a Dumbledore or Inferi, I might care more, but as of now I'll keep this one packaged. Also, why isn't the zipper on his jacket painted? It was on the proto. Ginny - Man, she's small. Is this an HBP figure or an OOTP one? It's hard to believe she's supposed to be the same age as the Hermione figure we got from OOTP. Also, her arms are pretty bad. It's tough to pose them in anyway that looks good. She MUST have her stand as well, which is a real negative (only Bella has needed her base so far, so it detracts from the display). Moody - I love the sculpt and articulation, but the hair is way too yellow. His "normal" eye is also less than perfect. What color is Moody's coat in the movie? I never noticed it until rewatching GOF, but the brown just seems WAY too dark. Overall, this series was seriously lacking. I don't regret buying any of them, but I was expecting a lot more. While the figures themselves are actually quite nice, the big issue is that they just don't really fit into the display with the OOTP figures. The skin on these guys is incredibly pale and it's not at all hard to pick out the HBP figures from the rest. I hope NECA changes things, but at this point I'm not sure what the future holds for HP. Things have slowed down immensely, they're not trying as hard (what happened to detailed bases?), and we've only seen one more planned figure. Is the end near?

I don't buy any of them, some companies enter in crisis or something since the paintjobs are really bad, I think all figures need the stand, they are for security in case of a fall off situation or an small earthquake. The best of the series is Harry and mostly for the right arm with more movement.

I have yet to see them in person only on the web. I really want all 4 of them. Whatever happened to the Twins? Are they still being produced? Also does anyone know what the next series planned are? I really want figures of Luna, and new figures of Ron and Hermoine in normal clothes. It would be nice to have figures of Neville, Nymphadora, Remus, Slughorn and McConagall.

buffyfannumerouno, no one has any idea as to what is going on with NECA. At this point, they seem to be focusing heavily on Twilight and video games and Potter has been swept under the rug. NECA wasn't being allowed to release anything that wasn't from a film currently in theaters, so they were going to release one non-HBP figure with every series from here out (which is why Moody was included in Series 1). At this point, all we know is that Greyback is coming out in the fall, but whether it's part of a Series 2 or will be released individually (with the DVD, perhaps?) is still unknown.
Barb, I haven't seen the pet set in ages. It was sold exclusively at Borders (in the US, at least) and I don't think I ever saw it online. Your best bet is probably eBay.

Neca certainly are quiet about Potter. Barb, I haven't seen the pet set in ages. It was sold exclusively at Borders (in the US, at least) and I don't think I ever saw it online. Your best bet is probably eBay. I still have to get that set. I didn't think I was going to bother originally, but it has started calling to me! "Sam.... SAM...you need the kids pets...you know you do!" ;D

Whao - $11.00! What a bargain! Congratulations!
Is that the auctions charging $17.00 for postage? The "bid price" is great, but the shipping seems to be excessive.
Cheers.

I think it is that guy....God help me! ;D You'd think those Neca figures would be about the same size & weight as most of the action figures I've been sending out lately, & the postage for them was no more than $11, usually closer to $6 regardless of where in Oz I was sending them. Hopefully the combined postage for the four figures isn't too bad.

but the shipping seems to be excessive. Just received invoice... $62.00 postage. Twice the amount of the figures. More than it costs to have 3 or 4 figures sent from the other side of the globe. I've asked him to look into it. There's just no way on this earth it could cost that much to send this parcel across the state.

*ouch*
Good luck getting the seller to agree to a lower shipping price.
Cheers.

The fellow actually told me that whilst they are trying to get their store in Australia, all their stuff has to come from a Hong Kong store right now. Hence the postage.
And I guess If I'd ordered them from Casefresh.com.au or somewhere like that I would have been paying about the same amount.
It will be really cool to have this wave. My other Neca figures are in serious need of a dusting, which I will do when the new wave arrives to take a new group pic.
So were the twins totally cancelled, or are they looking for a way to release them?

I never see these figures, even in collector shops. Has NECAs distribution been lessened or something?

Not sure about the Twins. I haven't been able to find the pictures - does anyone know where to find them? Or were there pics of them?
Also does anyone have a comparison pic of NECA Hagrid w/ Popco Grawp? I would love to see how Grawp would look with the NECA figs.

I finally found the trio with their pets set for a good price. It is only costing me fifty dollars with shipping included, I am so excited. I have really been wanting to collect this figure line, but I didn't want to start without having the trio. Now the hunt begins for the rest. Any idea on stores where I can get the new wave?
