I paid for a custom commission more than a year ago and am still waiting I know things happen, and I'm hoping everything works out because Jess is one of my favorite customizers.

To the ones complaining about Jess, I have one question for you. Have you paid her already for your commission? If so, then I understand why you're upset. However, if you haven't paid her yet, then I fail to see the problem here. We've all played the waiting game at some point in getting commissions done. I have the utmost respect for Wayne and am not mad at him whatsoever. However, I commissioned him to make me a figure back in December 2008, and I'm still waiting. Since then he has made countless other figures and statues. But I don't bitch because he hasn't completed my figure yet. He said he will, I believe him, and will just have to continue to be patient. So please remember the next time ya'll complain about waiting for a commission, I have been waiting for one since December 2008.Shiloh, this is wrong of you to post here. I know your only trying to defend Jess, but i still dont like that this was brought up. Ive told you numerous times, i havent been able to get the parts for this custom, and i wont start it until i do. The desk is hard to get hold of and i dont have the resources to make it here at home. Also, you proposed the idea back in 2008, but i never agreed to it. Ive been insanely busy with my degree and i made 2 figures during 2 years of term, everyone was aware of this. I havent taken any money for you at all and to be honest, this has really upset me and discouraged me from making this figure Posting this in a public section of the forum could be damaging to my reputation which i have been very keen to uphold on this forum for the last 5+ years

Wayne you should be in politics... Seriously! & Benny GaGa I did PM you a couple of times with updates, I never heard back from you. I have never received any PM's from you since Mar 25, 2010, 1:00pm. I'll give in pestering now, I'm just going to wait and see what happens over the next few days, weeks, months, years, decades. Because I really cannot wait to see this custom and display it on my shelves - I really wanted to have GaGa take a picture with it too .

While I really dislike posting negative feedback of buyers/sellers in this case I have mixed feelings about it.
About a month ago I closed a deal with Brandi (aka butimbroken) for Kenobi's Primeval Buffy Bust.
Although it was somewhat slow communication she did reply to all my question and even pointed out a fault in the bust and gave me a very decent deal accordingly.
However the negative aspect of the deal would be the way I got the bust - smashed to pieces; one hand came off, base was completely detached from the bust and everything that was clued to the base (doves and candles) came of taking chunks of paint with them.
Reason for this would be the fact that the bust was packaged only in some soft wrapping paper rather than bubblewrap (as requested by me prior shipping) and no indication of the "fragile" content on top of the package.
So after nearly an hour of glueing it, I managed to somewhat fix it - looks nice from far away but up close its a mess as I don't have any skills to match skin colors to fix the paint works.
As for Brandi, while she seems to be trying to "look into it" (said she inquired with USPS about the damaged goods), I didn't actually get any solution to this problem nor explanation to why my request for use of bubblewrap was ignored. Not even a partial refund was offered for the fact what I paid for and what I got was so radically different.
So while I'm stuck with this "deal" now, its important for me to point out this problem hoping other members would be far more cautious dealing with her.

I would offer to fix it for you but that would be a lot of shipping for this item! It's frustrating she didn't use bubble wrap, but I have to say that I sent a few Harry Potter bust recently that were wrapped very good and the postal service still managed to break them. They even smashed a package I sent and broke a rare 18 inch figure...and it wasn't even fragile. Then they basically said "Too bad, I didn't buy insurance" I didn't know I needed to insure against USPS carelessness, they should cover something when it is obviously something they caused!!! But I digress into my woes! I will fix it for you if you like...but that would be a lot of extra shipping for you.

Last year I sold a Buffy premium format (black dress regular edition). Luckily I insured it with tracking. But USPS was totally careless and reckless. When it arrived it was severely damaged. I had to fight for SIX months to get my money back (I sold it on eBay, the buyer reported me, eBay refunded their money, then they turned around and said I owed them ie eBay money. Even with insurance, receipts, photos of the damage, etc USPS would not refund my money. I had to make numerous calls to eBay, paypal, and finally write letters to the USPS corporate offices in Washington DC!! It was ridiculous, but after months, I did finally get my money back. The crazy thing is even with me getting insurance on the statue, I still had to fight with the corporate offices! eBay is great for buyers, but sometimes sellers get the $hitty treatment, that's for sure!

Thanks but it won't survive another shipping and to be honest don't want to pay even more for it now. I agree, there are plenty of stuff any post office can mess, which is all the more reasons to pack it as best as possible. So when the packaging is poor to begin with, it never really had a chance arriving in one piece.

I advise to always get insurance for anything you post and preferably have it signed for at the other end. Having said that , I have arrived home from work on numerous occasions and found a parcel left for me that should have been signed for! I'm just lucky that I have extremely honest neighbours!

Regarding transactions with Brandi (butimbroken), I also purchased some figures from her recent sales post. After reading this comments I was pretty scared to open the package I finally received today (I live in Canada and the mail strike plus long weekend equals massive arrival delay).
However! All three of my purchased figures were packaged with bubble wrap adequately. Only minor damage occurred (very slight chipping on the back of Illyria's knee; easy to paint over with black; Fred's arm popped out, also easy to glue back in, and her waist cracked but the slight fissure is barely noticeable and can be sealed). Considering how far these came and what they must have endured, I don't fault her for their arrival condition. I'm sorry your bust wasn't packaged in bubble wrap as well (especially when you requested and I didn't). I don't feel the need to demand a refund but I believe I would in your case, Lior Knight, as proper packaging is the shipper's responsibility and, in my opinion, as much a part of the transaction and purchase as the items themselves.
Overall I was satisfied with my purchase from butimbroken and just wanted to perhaps ease the minds of anyone interested in dealing with her in the future, or anyone who already has.

Feigenbaum, glad your package arrived well. It might very possibly be that mine was a one off but then again being cautious won't hurt.
BTW, out of curiosity when was your package posted? Just wonder if it was shipped after I complained about the packaging to Brandi.

A fair curiosity! But the package was shipped quite a while ago, on June 20th. (:

Mine was shipped a week before yours but yeah, I got mine on the 23rd. So that would be few days after. Beats me why she chose to pack yours better.

I try very hard not to cause waves. I do not use the forum much but have never ran into many issues.
As I have said in PM, I packaged the bust at the postal office with help from the workers there. I asked them about the shipping supplies, all of which I got from them and they approved for the shipment. I was not in any way trying to ignore anyone's request. I would assume, if wrongly, they knew what they were talking about given it is the nature of their business.
I was not trying to have slow communication with you. I replied as I could. I am not a regular forum member and as I pointed out both in the original post, replied to it and in at least one PM that I was going to be out of state for two weeks time. I had contacted the postal office before leaving and passed on the information I was given, and that I would do my best to look into it some more the day before, I believe, I had to go. It was difficult to repsond or update you as I had no internet access, as I pointed out. I had my mobile web and that was it and it doesn't work well on the forum, at least for me. I also had diffculty dealing with the post office when I did not have everything I needed on hand with me. Some information I needed was back home and I did not have access to it where I was.
You posted this feedback in the middle of my trip, long before I was able to properly reply or get anything even looked into. That is the most confusing part to me. But I'm sure you have your reasons.
I have been contacting USPS, their headquarters, my local place, online trying to find a solution when I have had the time. I have never ran into an issue with this so I am trying my best to learn and know my options and get the best out of it for everyone involved.
-------
Feigenbaum I am glad that everything arrived for you and you are happy with your customs. I am sorry to hear there was some damage done in the process.
-------
As for my leaving a feedback, I feel the need to finally point out I have had several bad expierences with Jess/Jessbold87. It has been years of frustration, thousands and thousands of money waste and lost, customs never made or sent. I have a long post to explain everything still to write, but I was encouraged to post something short and do the longer one later so here I am.
Over the past few years I have ordered a large amount of customs from Jess, have only received a small fraction of them. I have received, I believe, eleven customs I ordered for her to make in about two years time. I did order a large amount over time, but I was constantly told everything would be taken care of. I would be told everything was either almost finished or was actually done, then I would order more, but nothing ever came of it. Eventually, it got old.
I was given numerous amounts of excuses and lies. And I tried to be nice about it, patient, but enough time goes by, the same thing repeats, I had enough.Still trying to be nice, I only wrote her, explaining the situation and my feelings. I was told several apologies and that everything would be taken care of. Once again, that her life was stress-filled, that everything was almost done once again, that everything would be sent out soon. I waited to see. A few customs I had ordered from other customizers she had owned came in. I believe two of the ones I ordered from her that she would make have since then. It went back to the same cycle. I would get emails saying everything was almost done but nothing comes of it.
I was as nice as I could be. I was patient, I never tried to say a negative thing to Jess, never tried to rush her at all. But, honestly, when you have all of these customs in waiting, so much money being wasted, all the lies and excuses, then to see her constantly trying to find more buyers... it just got to that breaking point. Constantly she was updating ebay, asking for more buyers, stating it on the forum, even offering a supersale right before I had sent her my 'had enough' email. She knew fully well that she would be unable to make anything, yet at every turn was asking for work. For the life of me, I just could not understand.
She would also constantly try and push me to order more from her, stating how hard up she was for money. Which I can understand. We all have finanial responsibilities as I told her, but there is no excuse for theft and fraud either.
I understand we all have lives, issues, things to deal with. I understood about taking time, but there's was more than enough. When she realized how bad the situation was, I would have glady accepted a refund or some sort of action taken to make it right. At that point, even being honest would have been enough. If the situation would have been explained and she would have told the truth, I would have had a different approach and feeling about it now. Instead... it was just one lie after another.
I believe she is a very sweet girl and I do feel sorry for her. I hate being put in this situation. But given as it wasn't just about me, this does not just effect me, I feel I need to say something. Others should be aware, warned.
This situation, as for me, is being handled by a bigger source now. Hopefully it will be made right.

butimbroken, This super sale jess offered, was this the last one she offered this spring?
I had already two customs waiting from her but ordered 5(or more) from her anyway, assuming she was only behind on a few figures. I wish I had asked for a deadline.

Yes, skytteflickan88, that's the one I was thinking of, though I know she's done similar before but that just seemed to be a final straw for me I suppose, that last one.
I have a great deal of customs in waiting and it just felt like a slap in the face every time.
Sigh. The story got old. Too much time, money and energy wasted.

Ive gotta jump on that bandwagon too. Ive commissioned a custom figure from Jess months back, it took her about 3-4 months to make. I always asked her about my custom, but she always told me that shes got a whole bunch to get done before. I didnt know it was that bad. After my figure was postet it took another 6?! weeks, of excuses and stories to get it shipped. She told me shes helping out her mum, and I was fine with that. After finding out she still keept posting figures on the forum and was offering figures in her supersale I was pissed. Just on my birthday the figure finaly arrived, with terrible damages... Wich I dont understand... Like it has been said... She throws customs out like hell... you think she should knew how to wrap them well. I contact her about MSbigs Buffy/Mayor Graduation day set, once she posted it... all I got was "Shes allready on hold for someone".... after months I finaly got a chance to buy it. She left it for me very cheap, and I was thankful she gave it to me, so I went right away and sent the payment. Ive waited 2 weeks after ive sent payment, I then wanted to get information on the shipping status. First the Mayor-snake needed to get fixed, then we needed to wait till the paint got dry, then same for the seal.... after that we had trouble finding a box, then obviously my payment was spend for something differnt, we needed to wait for another payment to settle... another day the post office was closed... and I really got tired of it... I sent her a warning saying im starting a re-transfare if the package wont be sent next time. She sent it out next day, she was very kind, sent it via express and the piece came in excellente condition. Im also thinking shes a very sweet girl and a nice person... but I wouldnt buy from her again. If there is a problem things can be talked, I think if she ever came to me, telling me the thruth I wouldnt be pissed, its the lies that makes me go wild. I think she (you) should take a break, getting all those commissions done, and all those problems solved... If you keep acting that way your ruin your reputation Jess, if it allready hasnt been

I have never ran into an issue with this so I am trying my best to learn and know my options and get the best out of it for everyone involved. Brandi, with all due respect I posted my feedback almost two weeks after getting the broken bust. During which you only replied twice, never offered a solution just promised to "look into it" in a month. So yes, I have my reasons which to be frank, are very reasonable. Not to mention not once did you mention being away on a trip. So from my point of view it seems just lack of care on your behalf. More so, new to this or not, common logic that if something fragile rattles in the box, chances it will get broken. So regardless of what post office workers said, this is something I expect to be quiet obvious, especially since you just recently moved so I take it you did pack your fragile items properly to avoid breakage in the transit, right? Not to mention I did warn you this might happen when I PMed you: I expected some common courtesy just as I have given when I choose to covered PayPal fees from our transaction to make sure you get 100% of the payment. In any case, don't think this ever gonna get resolved so fine, let it be. But don't try to turn it over for me being impatient or unreasonable. P.S. I would like to point out, that regardless of how I feel about our deal, this doesn't mean I would let my personal feelings interfere with my admin work. So as I told Hansi, if you are having problems with other members you can and should talk to me and I will do my best to help you.

I do not visit this website often, the most I have is to sell some of my figures. Other than that, it has been a random thing. Honestly, I don't even check my personal e-mail that often. I was not in any way trying to be slow with replying, I just don't go to certain websites daily. I do try to respond to people as quickly as I can but I'm not always checking every single place. And at that time I was busy preparing for a trip and getting things straightened out before I'd have to go so I was hardly ever online to begin with.
When I had zero internet access it was quite a bit more difficult. I had my mobile web as mentioned but for half of my time away I was in an area that had zero phone reception so I did not even have that for almost six days of the time.
I only saw your message about the bust on the 25th of June. I was checking everything quickly before I left. I was leaving the state first thing the next morning, the 26th. I had it posted in at the top of the forum message I wrote, replied in a comment to it after I sold some of the items, mentioned I would be leaving in my message on the 25th, replied again twice on the 29th in short messages as my phone had a hard time handling the board to let you know quickly what information I had so you would not think I was just ignoring you and that I would do my best to look into it when I would return the next month, which I did return the next month on July 10th as I have posted.
I wrote you quickly the day after I got home then I do apologize if my personal life had gotten in the way and I hadn't even been on the forum at all. I returned home with a terrible cold so was basically knocked out for a week after getting back and also have been swamped with work for the time I missed. I have also been going around in circles it feels like trying to get a straight answer.
I do not have expierence shipping things out of the country, and for work I usually ship all things through a packing company, but I've never really run into issues had I packed it or not. The bust was not rattling in the box or slipping around, if it had been I would have added more around it. I did not act careless about packing, I never have. I have always double checked with employees before I send something, do my best to ask questions and be sure to get as much ifnormation as I can. I brought what supplies I had and used what they suggested. I took their word for it, it seemed reasonable to me. In no way was I intentionally trying to cause any problems with you or have the bust come in in such a manner. I'm sorry for being slow on finding the best solution and trying to deal with what happened and learn from it.

I'm also trying to not argue in any way, I just wanted to put my side of how it was for me on that situation.
I knew I would be leaving for this trip, I had decided to sell some of my customs for it as I had to pay someone back for the plane ticket they bought me. I tried to make sure I got everything I could taken care of before I left as I knew I wouldn't be home and wouldn't have access to anything in order to get anything else shipped out and such.
I did not try and make it seem like I did not care and I'm sorry if it came off that way. I can understand looking at it how it could have and I truly apologize for that.

Guys, I know I've disappointed a lot of you. But most of all, I've disappointed myself. I seriously don't know why I'm acting this way, it's just not me. I've been like this for awhile, I'm been trying my best to hide it and try to push forward and get a lot of work done on these figures. I've recently had a huge wake up call on these figures, and I thank a lot of you for that. It's really opened my eyes. I sincerely don't know why I've turned into this person, it's the polar opposite of what I am.
I've been working so very hard on these figures, trying to get everyone caught up. It's hard to remember if I've updated people or not, so I really try to update as many people as I can. I just have so much going on in my brain trying to get these figures done that I can sometimes forget to update someone. Or I'll think I updated someone, when I really haven't. It's all very chaotic.
I'll be working extremely hard this next month to try to get caught up as much as I possibly can. I know I tarnished my reputation. Quite frankly, I deserve it, with the way I've been acting. I hope to eventually build back up my reputation here though. I'm not a person who gives up. No matter how much stuff goes on in my life I always try to push forward with getting these figures done. Sometimes it's just so difficult, especially when a family member you are extremely close to dies. It can be very hard to get past something like that, and I've had it happen way too many times in my lifetime. I think that's why something in me snapped.
Everyone who has outstanding orders with me, please be assured that you will all get your orders. I will always get every single thing done. I do not scam people, I've had it happen to me far too many times in the past, that I know I don't want to do that to somebody else.
I do apologize sincerely for the delay on a lot of your orders. They will get done as soon as I possibly can. I also apologize for slow shipping. I don't have access to a car right now, so I either have to wait to get a ride from someone else, or I have to walk. So it tends to slow shipping down.
I've been dealing with a lot lately in my family, so I've been on stress overload.
