OK, we're going to have to set some ground rules. The purpose of this discussion group is to evaluate and discuss the themes and content of episodes of Buffy and Angel. We're talking serious discussion, not just "I liked it cuz this was cool" posts. I'm not going to set up a structure for posts, but I encourage people to really put time into their posts especially in this section.
1. Spellcheck. Copy and paste it into something with a spellcheck. It makes everything much more professional.
2. Don't be afraid to express your opinion. We're not all rocket scientists, and I don't want this to turn into a "snooty intellectual" battleground. Everyone has opinions, and most of them time you can't change their minds (even if you ARE right).
3. Support your statements with examples from the episodes. Nothing is more frustrating than someone making wildly-incorrect claims and then saying they were based on "that one episode with the vampire guys."
4. Have fun! Don't be afraid to tackle seemingly off-the-wall subjects. As long as it's in the episode, it's fair game.

Soo ... Did I miss the post where this idea was dropped? This section has really gone downhill, and it's frustrating to read posts like, "I like this ep. It wuz kool! ," over and over again. Could we start trying to have intelligent conversations again? Probably more people would post about episodes then. Just a thought.

Great idea. I'd like to get involved, but my DVD sets are in another state! I'll have to bring them back, so I can join in.

I move for a banning of the word BORING in this section. It is used way too often and is used in place of real critical opinions. Instead of commenting on the shows plot pace and character development for instance, people just state: “This episode was boring!”. I’m not saying this like I’m immune to this problem either. I’m sure I’ve probably given out my fair “Its boring” comments too, but not being to say that may help people make more intelligent observations.
Moe.
My apologies for going on, I understand this post was “sooooo boring!” 3/10

Just let people say what they want. Some people arn't the best critics. I think Moe is trying to say that it's more interesting for discussion when people delve a little deeper in the episode. We had this discussion when the forum first went up, and discouraged people just to say "I love this episode" or "This episode sucked". I have started nudging people into another direction to give them other things to think about, questions to ponder when watching the episodes. This forum doesn't get much traffic I think, because our discussions haven't evolved into something a little more richer and beyond "this episode is boring". Of course anyone can say what they want, but I just encourage everyone to go beyond their first impressions and take a second look at these episodes.

I have to agree. Even just a quick sentance or two to say why you like or dislike the epsidoe is appreciated.

When we reach Buffy Season 4, we will be a two episode a week thing with Angel?
Example:
Freshman and City of...
Living Conditions and Lonely Hearts

You know I thought I'd just still do one a week. A Buffy, then an Angel. Just to prolong our fun as long as possible

You know I thought I'd just still do one a week. A Buffy, then an Angel. Just to prolong our fun as long as possible But that would ruin so many good crossovers. Some episodes are simply must be watched immediately one after the other.

I'm going to do an episode of Angel and Buffy each week see if we can pick this place up a bit. See I should always listen to you Lior Actually I think I'll be able to squeeze two episodes in a week now, so my reasons for doing one a week were purely selfish! Looking forward to Season Four and Angel coming up!

I suggest maybe... putting a poll on episode threads. for grades out of ten? Could be cool.
